Yesterday was a very good day!
First) Mary Ann Cleveland (Rita Ranch) invited me for lunch in her home with her husband, Bob and 3 close girlfriends. When I left at 3pm they were full speed ahead offering to help me any way they could. They immediately started making telephone calls to others enlisting their help. Wow We; that is major!
Second) My web designer came through big time and I have a totally new web site. Please check it out, all criticism welcomed, this way I can keep making the site better.
Thanks for all your support. I am working very hard 24/7 to become your new Tucson City Council member.
Sincerely, Dan

I am so thankful to Carl Mangelsdorf and Brandon Blair hosting the Friends of Dan TGIF gathering Friday, 7/27/07. I do appreciate all of you very much. Any help you can bring to my campaign will be greatly appreciated. Many hands make the work light. Please invite your friends to join us for an evening of good fellowship.
Also - more good news. This afternoon I met with my web site designer and we launched a new web site: <http://www.danspahr2007.com/> www.DanSpahr2007.com . This web site improvement is the result of 2 months work and I am very pleased. This new web site better projects who I am and hopefully will better demonstrate my candidacy. It is a work in progress and new issues and information will be constantly introduced. Please give the web site a look and report back to me your comments and criticisms. I will use your opinions to make additional improvements.
I am working very hard every day to become your new councilman.
Sincerely, Dan

Reply to Linda,
Family Values and Community Standards are very near to my heart. This includes neighborhoods where moms and dads want to raise their families in peace. I do appreciate your comments and hope to hear more from you. Also, how could it hurt to have a community function where everybody is invited to meet the ‘neighbor who happens to be a candidate’? I really need help with this. Dan

GOOD NEWS, “The Arizona Bioscience Park will encompass over 65 acres of building and open space located ten minutes south of downtown Tucson. Sponsored by the UA , the Arizona Bioscience Park will provide an important link in the development strategy of the Tucson and Pima County region,” UA publication, January 2007.
I have met with University officials and been told discussions are being held with TUSD to include a (potentially co-operative) high school at the Bioscience Park to encourage students to participate in the sciences.
When elected to Tucson City Council on November 6th. I will make ‘investment in education’ a priority. This is the only way we can increase wages in Tucson.

Interesting. You know Jim Click is a Republican. Why is he supporting Shirley? You should contact him.
Thanks for your contact,
Actually I am very disappointed in Mr. Click. We talked several months ago. I asked for an appointment to visit with him. He told me anyone would be better than Shirley. He told me he doesn’t support individual candidates but he does support the Pima Co Rep Party. This is just after he got back from having dinner with the Queen of England at the White House. Yes, I am very disappointed in Mr. Click. When I called his office yesterday the secretary told me he would be out of town all summer.

Friday’s lunch was really original, 5 Democrats who probably have never in their lives voted for a Republican agreed to help their buddy, Dan, a Republican get elected! I find it hard to come up with words to describe how much their confidence means to me. Maybe because the principles that separate our party’s really doesn’t come into play with Tucson City Council? I believe the Republican principles of thrift and smaller government is just what TCC needs!
Imagine that, our differences make us stronger.
Later this afternoon I turned into the clerk’s office my financial report, beating the deadline by one day! Yea us. Yes US, as this would have been so much more difficult without the help of my campaign treasurer, David Mancini and his staff at Crawford & Mancini.
Certainly everyone in the campaign will be so impressed to learn that as of May 31st my campaign had contributions of $2600! The good news is that with my 5 Democrat friends I have a chance to get the 200 gifts I need to qualify for matching funds! Isn’t that a Hoot!
Thank you for believing in me, you will not be disappointed. Dan

The issue that came out today (weekly rag) has a really cute sketch of you. After a long and energetic dinner meeting I grabbed copies for several members and skimmed it to see what was of interest: the drawing of you just jumped out on page 15….recognized you instantly!
Way to go, Dan. Your issues are real attention grabbing and know that we like your guts. (eg. daring to bring up grade separation intersection issue as well as east-west roadway) Yikes!!!! That freeway word seems to scare people around here,,,,,,
Keep the faith,
Paula
P & M,
That caricature is not bad. I saw a copy this morning.
The voters I talk to (Ward 4) would like Kolb from I-10 to Grant @ I-10 to become a graded separated parkway. If the voters decide to & are willing to pay for it ($), wouldn’t Tucson be a better place? Personally I think this should have been done twenty years ago. Dan

In approximately 140 days I will need 26,000 votes to win my seat on Tucson City Council. I am working very hard 24/7 to accomplish this goal. How can you help? There are many things you can do including introducing me to your friends at a coffee in your home or office.
Today, you can help me by requesting an early ballot for the general election.
[I have already won the primary election as I have no opposition.]
I greatly appreciate your vote and helping me accomplish my goal.

Ladies, I met with Carol West last week, twice, in her office for an hour; and then that evening at the Walkup event. She gave me a lot of names of people to get to know. I also have an acquaintance who is on 9 boards and is willing to help me meet the movers and shakers and raise some money. I intend to win my election. Dan
